cxstatusline is an open-source statusline customization tool for OpenAI Codex CLI. It replaces the default fixed Codex footer with a multi-row, customizable terminal statusline featuring 36 widgets, powerline glyphs, Git branch and diff counters, five-hour and weekly usage progress bars, and truecolor theme support. It runs on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (x86_64 and aarch64), integrating directly with official Codex releases.

The playground is an optional demo. You can create and edit your entire layout locally.

cxstatusline doctorcxstatusline installs a patched build matching your supported Codex version; Codex does not currently provide a native statusline extension hook. Check compatibility below; see the revert procedure.
Open the terminal editor
Run cxstatusline to choose widgets, arrange rows, and set colors directly in your terminal.
Browser save affects only this browser. Downloading cxstatusline-settings.json does not modify the local CLI.

Any version of cxstatusline can install and patch any supported Codex release on macOS and Linux. Select your version interactively during installation or target one directly with --codex-version.
